Blending Families – and Styles

Molly approached me with a common challenge couples face when moving in together – blending a home. Molly and Mark share a beautiful home in Rockford with their 11-year-old daughter and Frenchie, Diesel. They have already done some beautiful finish updates and were looking to spruce up the decor. We decided on a design plan for both the living and dining room areas and did an in-person consultation for the bathrooms, kitchen, and bedroom.

One major concern was the cost they might have to spend furnishing, so I experimented with furniture they already had and made it work! There is a misconception that interior design plans must be "expensive", but in reality...all the money you save on not having to replace things really adds up! Since the design plan put them well under budget – they were able to splurge on big ticket items like custom curtains. It has been such a pleasure working with them and watching their plan come together!
